As the dust raised by the panel set up by the Imo State Government on execution of projects under the administration of Gov Rochas continue to rage coupled with his continuous defiance of Owelle Rochas Okorocha to appear before the commission, the former governor has moved to stop his probe by the present administration.
The Hope Uzodinma regime retained the judicial panel of Inquiry on contracts set up by his immediate predecessor. Several witnesses have been making confessional statements and evidences with Okorocha failing to appear despite several invitations extended to him by the panel.
Latest information Trumpeta obtained is that Okorocha has dragged the state government to court to stop the continuation of the probe Imo state, Sen. Hope Uzodinma by filing a suit against him and the commission in court.
Trumpeta learnt this is coming after unsuccessful attempts to the presidency and National leadership of the APC to prevail on the governor of Imo state to do away with the commission.
Recall that, the commission had earlier summoned the former Principal Secretary, Dr. Paschal Obi, who maintained that, all contracts under the administration under review were executed by the former governor without recourse to due process.
In the new suit, HOW/ 260/ 2020, which as at press time, is yet to be assigned judge, has Senator Hope Uzodinma, Attorney General, C.O.C Akaolisa, Chairman of the commission, Hon. Benjamin Iheaka and members of the commission included.
