Following the dust raised by a letter written to the National Chairman of All Progress Congress APC, Adams Oshiomhole, by the factional chairman of Imo APC, Chief Dan Nwafor seeking the removal of Barr Marcellinus Nlemigbo, there are clear indications that the party is spur for a possible explosive encounter in the days ahead.
With this development in sight, it is now obvious that the political squabbles that may bedeviled the party’s supporters and leaders is imminent.
Recall that Chief Nlemigbo is the chairman favoured by Sen Hope Uzodinma,the Governor of Imo State while Dan Nwafor belongs to Senator Rochas Okorocha’s rescue mission family.
Nwafor in his letter said, “We carefully observed from here in Owerri, the recent events that played out in our party where your seat as National Chairman was threatened in which you eventually emerged victorious because you ran to the court and they gave judgment in your favour.
He said the irony of this ugly development is that while the national chairman is still obeying valid judgments in favour of their executives, Oshiomhole relied on the same courts to redeem his office in times of the crisis which he faced recently.
He recalled that the national chairman was a co-defendant/counter claimant with him.
In suit FCTHCBWCV/03/2018 in which an order of perpetual injunction was given on the 14th of August 2018 ordering the National Working Committee or their agents from either removing or interfering in their tenure until expiration in 2022.
He said “You disobeyed this judgment and attempted to dissolve our executives in December 2018, you enthroned an illegal caretaker committee effort to get you to reverse yourself on this error has proved abortive.
“When you finally found out that you have committed a major blunder, you approached the same court and tried to set aside the August 14th 2018 judgment after all said and done the court ruled against you on 6th of November 2019.
“In the spirit of trying to rebuild the party, I urged you to quickly dissolve the illegal caretaker executives of APC Imo State from ward level without further interference”.
