Surprises have been characterizing the Supreme Court review case of Chief Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP against Senator Hope Uzodinma of the APC over the judgment of the January 14, 2020 of the Apex Court over who is the winner of the Imo State governorship election.
This is as a result of the second adjournment of hearing on the 2019 Imo governorship case at the Supreme Court for review.
Recall that, the Supreme Court had adjourned to 2nd of March, 2020, after counsel to Emeka Ihedioha, Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, CON, asked for time to study processes served him on the day of the review initially stated for 18th February,2020.
Information gathered revealed that, at 9.30am yesterday Monday, March, 2020 after court had been called to order and honourable justices filed out, the case was mentioned for hearing.
Chief Kanu Agabi SAN, leading legal team for Rt Hon Ihedioha and PDP, announced to the courts that Chief Dodo, SAN had just served him processes right there in court and thus requested for a very short adjournment to go through the processes, for appropriate hearing.
This seemed not to have gone down well with Chief Dodo who had wanted the court to go ahead with the hearing, adding that he was ready to go ahead.
Expectedly the Supreme Court, granted Chief Agabi’s request and the matter was adjourned to today, Tuesday, March 3, 2020.
This is the second time such drama of adjournment has been witnessed in the course of the case after much hype and expectations about the outcome.
It is expected that after the two adjournments which heightened tension in the state, the final outcome that would determine the fate of the two gladiators would be known today.
