OHAJI YOUTHS SEEK INDIGENOUS RECTOR FROM OHAJI/EGBEMA EXTRACTION FOR IMO STATE POLYTECHNIC, UMUAGWO

Apparently worried over years of marginalization in the institution that is located in their land, youths of Ohaji under the auspices of the National council of Ohaji Youths, NACOY has asked that one of their own be appointed to a principal officer position of the Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo-Ohaji.
The youths in a statement made public said “We the entire youth of Ohaji under the auspice of National Congress Of Ohaji Youth (NACOY), thanks the Governor for listening to their plea by retaining the investigative panel setup by the past administration led by Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha to investigate the activities of the Imo State Polytechnic management from 2011-2019.This has once again proved that you are a listening Governor. And like you said in your inaugural speech, Government is a continuum.
His Excellency sir, we also wish to remind you that, The Imo state polytechnic has been in existence for over 41 years and the people of Ohaji/Egbema L.G.A cannot boost of any of their son occupying any principal/management position, ranging from the Rector to the chief librarian. Sir during the
THE USAID – OTI/AFRYDEF/CAJ PEACE PROJECT IN IMO STATE IN 2000
Part of the resolution reached and I quote”
The statement signed by NACOY president, Comrade Emma Ugorji said,
“On the issues of  Adapalm(Nig.) Ltd; Obitti Rubber Estate; Ohaji Forest Reserve; College of Agriculture, Umuagwo; Oguta Lake Motels and Oguta  Golf Course,  all in Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas of Imo State raised by the participants, it was resolved as follows:
“That adequate compensations should be made by the state  government to the host communities,
“That qualified sons and daughters of the host communities of these establishments should be appointed into top management positions of these establishments.
His Excellency sir, it is therefore not out of place at this point in time that we demand for indigenous Rector since we have our sons and daughters who are qualified academically to occupy the position in communique reached during their Congress, The body stated it clear that any attempt made to shortchange their people will be met with strong resistance and they are optimistic that, the listening and hopeful Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodimma, who during his days in the red chamber of the federation has advocated for local content will not disappoint them on these as the pledge their loyalty and support to the new Government. Speaking further, the president, Hyper Comrade Ugorji Emmanuel Chinonye pleaded with the His Excellency to discover the rational behind the balkanization of the school and why it has failed to pass accreditation for the past few years. He said that the people of Imo state should not forget in a hurry that Imo state polytechnic is the famous Micheal Opara college of Agriculture, where Imo state university and federal polytechnic originated from. Ohaji has contributed immensely to the development of Imo State, They have given their lands freely for Government use. Adapalm plantation, The Imo rubber estate and Imo state polytechnic are all situated in Ohaji and as at last year from the DPR journal Ohaji produced about 75% of the oil barrels lifted from Imo state still we are the less developed clan in the entire Imo state”.
The president also pleaded with the contractors in charge of the Electrification of Umuapu, Ihie, Obitti, Awarra/Ikwerede, OCHIA, Assa and Obile Autonomous community to return to site because it is crystal clear that His Excellency did not stop any ongoing project. They should not use change of Government as an excuse because our Excellency said “Government is a continuum.
