Things are gradually being put in place for the final interment of the late Senator representing Okigwe Zone at the National Assembly, Sen. Benjamin Uwajumogu, who died on Wednesday, 18th December 2019.
As part of activities preceding his burial, a valedictory service was held in his honour was yesterday at the hallowed chamber in the senate.
His distinguished colleagues, paid glowing tributes to him, as the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan declared the session open.
Among those who spoke were, the Minority leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo- Agege, Senator Ajayi Borofice, Senator Philip Aduda, Senator Rochas Okorocha, former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu all giving good reports about the deceased.
Family and relatives of the deceased had earlier filed in, accompanying the corpse side by side as they made entry into the chamber.
The senate said the late lawmaker, will be sorely missed for his enormous contributions to the debate and activities of the upper legislative arm.
Until his death, he was Chairman Senate Committee on Employment, Labour, and Productivity.
He will finally be committed to mother earth on Friday 21st of February, 2020
