Imo State Deputy Governor, Prof. Placid Njoku has expressed optimism that the administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma will not only give effective leadership, but is determined to ensure the progress of the State.
He also revealed that before the two years of the administration, there would be robust development which the masses would be proud of.
Addressing his Ikeduru kinsmen last Saturday in an APC unity meeting convened at the country home of Prince Charls Amadi in Eziama Ikeduru, the Deputy Governor commended them for their unalloyed support before, during and within the election period.
Njoku acknowledged the votes the party garnered from Ikeduru, stressing that the kind gesture must be reciprocated.
The number two citizen of Imo averred that the government has not come to witch hunt anyone, rather, has come to restore the people’s confidence in governance and her leaders.
In addition, Prof. Njoku assured that within their two years stay in Imo State government house, there must be a positive difference, which will remain evergreen.
Said he, “As you all know, we didn’t start with any handover note, but systematically, we will give that desired governance to Ndi Imo.
God himself has given us Hope, and that Hope is what we see”.
Speaking further, the Ikeduru born Deputy Governor hammered that all the leadership conflict in Ikeduru has been settled.
“We are all going to work together. I will take the responsibility on my shoulder in ensuring that all warring factions are resolved.
APC has formed the central government of Nigeria, even in the State here, over 22 out of 27 is APC in the House of Assembly. We are linking up through the APC gridline in Nigeria”.
Hence, he called on all embittered members to close ranks and come together for the simple interest of the State, and Ikeduru LGA.
Earlier in his address, Prince Charls Amadi (Charlvon), described the gathering as a special day for unity of purpose.
He opined that it was a day mapped out to welcome both old and new APC members.
Charlvon highlighted that by their zeal for a greater Ikeduru, if the numbers remain steadfast, they can surmount any future political venture and come out victorious.
According to him, “The meeting had the consent of the Deputy Governor who is the apex leader, while I, Charlvon is just a servant leader”.
Similarly, the business mogul cum politician reechoed that there is no more coalition, either as AA/APC, adding that everyone now is an ardent follower of the moving vehicle led by Governor Hope Uzodinma.
Meanwhile, Charlvon warned that while the party is open to welcome all and sundry, there must be sanity, decorum and respect.
The governor was appreciated for the appointment of an Ikeduru illustrious son, Rev. Dr. CNN Nwanebu as Chief of staff Nominee to the office of the deputy governor.
Commenting, the Chief Of Staff nominee to the Deputy Governor, Rev. Dr. Chidi Ndubuisi Nwanebu, also known as CNN Nwanebu Commended Charlvon for his simplicity and role in raising others.
He urged detractors in the Council to desist from such and work towards the development of Ikeduru.
According to him, Senator Hope Uzodinma didn’t only win at the Supreme Court; he also won at the polling units which God through the apex court reaffirmed his mandate.
In their respective speeches, Dr Iyke Njoku (Owerri APC zonal chairman), Eze Dr. Uche Egenti, Hon Ezinwa Mentus Ubochi, Hon. Obinna Nshirim, Hon. Orikeze Ajumbe all hailed the leadership of Ikeduru for the meeting.
They pledged to support the government of the day to thrive in all her good intentions.
