Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma is not a new comer to the political scene if his antecedents in the field are measured.
With a history in Imo State governorship election dating back to 2003, Uzodinma represented Orlu zone a record two times, only the likes of maverick politician, Francis Arthur Nzeribe could achieve in the district before becoming the number one citizen of the State on January 14, 2020 courtesy of the Supreme Court Judgment.
Uzodinma’s trajectory may have endowed him with quantum of experience in the political sector but much cannot be said of him as a state governor having spent not more than a month. That gives reasons why he needs to shine his eyes as he takes charge of affairs of the state after being sworn-in on January 16, 2020.
Since coming on board, Uzodinma appears to have become the latest political messiah in town with his homes and office turning into a pilgrimage centre for favour seekers.
Ironically, even those who launched inglorious campaign of calumny against his APC mandate and also trumpeted unimaginable invectives against Uzodinma are regurgitating of late to praise and worship the new Imo State governor.
One is not worried about those frolicking with Uzodinma at the moment as one Igbo proverb says “Onye ji Igu ka ewu na eso” (one with palm fronts attracts goat). As a colossus in the political field, Uzodinma attracts followership. He was a major force to reckon with in his former party, the PDP where he won the senate seats and also ran for governorship race on two occasions.
