The Future Of Our Society In The Hands Of Today’s Children Owerri Secondary Schools Go Haywire?

About 20 years ago, children were always careful with their playing tools as moral ethics were mostly drawn from Christian teachings at the churches and moral instructions received at our primary and secondary schools?

But since the invasion of sexy movies, magazines and culture into our society, our children mostly the ones in primary and secondary schools no longer have regards to the moral ethics as their actions and behavior towards certain societal activities usually associated with adults are nothing to write home about.

According to findings from an investigation carried out by campus gist recently, the type of activities our secondary school children engage themselves in has seriously placed a question mark on what Nigeria society will look in the next ten to twenty years.

Gangsters or better still cultism has always been associated with university students, but recent occurrences in Owerri and its environs have shown that the secondary school peers are gradually taking over the ills

Campus gist have on several occasions observed incidents where some students of Government Collage Owerri,

Government Technical Collage Owerri, Emmanuel Collage Owerri and Holy Ghost Collage Owerri engage in brutal fighting that can only be likened to campus cult wars.

Not too long ago, it was reported that some notorious young boys alleged to be students of Holy Ghost Collage attempted to assassinate the Principal of the said collage who incidentally is also a Rev. Father.

Campus gist has also been reliably informed that                                          these groups of boys always frequent night clubs in where they engage in activities that their parents cannot imagine.

The boys as the report has it conceal dangerous weapons in their hand bags or inside their wears which, as expected, are used to maim and inflict injuries on their prey.

Their female colleagues on their part deceive their parents with stories that they are attending choir practice or night vigil and turn up at the night clubs or party venues where most of them smoke and sometimes get sexually abused by the male folks.

The worrying aspect is that some of these children are barely 15 or 16 years whose activities send shock wares to our elders. Often times as it is reported the issue that causes the war between the existing cults or gangsters mostly are woman.

Campus gist is of the view that our law enforcement agencies should as a matter of urgency begin to extend their security watch to secondary schools to forestall these types of occurrences.

The school managements on their part should device means of checking the moral life of their wards while parents must begin to check the day to day activities of their children to avoid derailment.
