Okorocha Reshuffles Cabinet

The State Government has announced a minor Reshuffle in the Executive Counsel, the Cabinet Re – shuffle followed the decision reached in the last Executive Counsel Meeting held last Wednesday in the Governorment House Owerri.

Briefing News men at the end of the Exco meeting, the state Commissioner for information and strategy Dr. Obinna Duruji said that the affected Ministries includes the Ministry of Commerce and Industries which will now be headed by the State Commissioner for land Nze Oguweri Ewerem, the Former Commissioner for Commerce and industries, Mrs Chioma Ogueke now becomes the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Chief Ejike Uche former Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development now goes to the Ministry of Public Utilities and Rural Development, Mr. Iheanyi Nwachukwu formerly of the Ministry of Public utilities and Rural development is now the Commissioner for Special duties, Barr. Nelson former Commissioner for transport and Social duties is now the Commissioner for Transport including Aviation and Management of Imo Airline to be floated soon.

The Comissioner further announced the nomination of the Deputy Chief of Staff Mr. Uche Nwosu as the Commissioner for lands, Survey and Urban planning Mr Nicolas Oparandu the Chief     Economic Adviser gets norminated Economic planning.

The information Commissioner also announced the decision of the Exco to adopt the Assumpta Catholic Cathedral as one of the States Monuments and approved the sum of N50 million for the Re – novation of the Cathedral.

He said the Exco discussed the issue of the proposed fourth – tier Government and resolved that the members of the Committee Government Council comprising the Eze the president General, Youth leader, Women leader and Community speaker will now be called the State Representative as the community structure will be complimented by a management team to be constituted by the civil servant to be redeployed from their various Ministries and Establishments.
