For more than two days now, a renowned philanthropist, Dr. Collins Osuagwu through his Foundation,Chief Collins Osuagwu Foundation, has been making the rounds to several less-privilege homes bearing gifts and making donations running into several millions of Naira.
One might be wondering if it is birthday as he was asked in one of the homes he visited. No, it isn’t his birthday, rather, the soft-spoken business mogul is driven by the passion to leave this world a far better place than he met it and also fulfilling a pact.
Fielding question from newsmen in Owerri shortly after his visit to Holy Family, St Joseph Motherless home Okwuratta ,Dr. Osuagwu who is also the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Zeus Marina Oil And Gas LTD and  2019 Governorship Candidate of “Yes Party” Imo State, said he made a covenant with God to give back to the society if he is so blessed while growing up.
According to Dr Osuagwu “The main motivation, first of all, is passion, I have a passion for the youth, for the well-being of the less privileged, the children and the young ones who are said to be the future of this country.
“So, we do not have a choice but to take care of them.”
“At a point in time, I made a vow that if I become wealthy in the future, I will always look for ways to help the less privileged because I know that they need that help, they need that love.”
During most of his visit, he doled out different gift items like Bags of Rice, Cartons of Noodles, Groundnut oil, Beverages and Toiletries, deodorants and so forth. Not only did he bring gifts to the children, he met the children and interacted with them, where he sang, prayed and danced with them all with the aim of lifting their spirits.
He said “They are like any one of us, so they need that love and we need to show them that we love them, we need to lift up their spirit and emotions by coming around and playing with them, providing their needs and generally playing with them.”
“When it is also the end of the year, we will party with them, so that they may know that they are not lonely and alone in the society” he added.
Expressing the gratitude of the motherless home, Rev .Sister C Chimgozirimi said it was a great thing that Dr. Collins Osuagwu and the Foundation came to visit the children with the gifts and food items.
She also used the opportunity to thank Dr Osuagwu for his gesture.
Her word,” We are so happy to receive Dr. Osuagwu here today and to see all the great gifts that he brought for the children, I sincerely thank him.”
“I am speechless and so grateful and excited that God has brought him today to our midst. We are also praying that God will continue to bless the good work that he is doing,” she prayed.
Through Dr. Osuagwu, fortune also smiled on a 13- year-old favour who helps around the home.
