For majority of Orlu people and particularly the Orlu Zone Solidarity Forum, (OZF) there is no going back in support of the quest of Owerri Zone for the 2015 governorship position in the state.
Chairman of OZF, Honourable Dom. Mgbe who barred his mind on this issue during a visit to Owerri Zone Political Leadership Forum (OZOPOLF) leadership said “Orlu Zone solidarity Forum remains conscious of Imo Chatter of Equity on the agreement and zoning arrangement between Orlu, Okigwe and Owerri Zones”.
Mgbe who regretted that it was only Owerri Zone which has magnificently been denied its fare share despite its magnanimous disposition as the state capital, explained that Owerri Zone has accommodated Okigwe Zone for two terms and Orlu respectively in the mist of excesses and provocations.
According to the group, “It is only proper and in the spirit of equity to concede the rights of governorship ofImoStatecome 2015 to Owerri Zone and in confronting of emergence”.
The group however urged Owerri Zone to carry them along in the project as they are not prepared to play the second fiddle in the project.
Responding on behalf of OZOPOLF, the leader Prince Charles Amadi who took the group down memory lane in the quest before handing over to the secretary General Barrister Kingsley Ononuju, thanked them for their show of love and concern to the Owerri plight.
Barrister Ononuju who disclosed that OZOPOLF has its root in all the 223 autonomous communities in Owerri Zone, assured the people of Orlu of the seriousness of his group in the project.
Ononuju who also reminded the group that courage is the force of all human qualities, assured them of the preparedness of OZOPOLF to partner with all the zones in the state in the realization of the 2015 Owerri Zone project.
According to Barrister Ononuju, OZOPOLF will not rest until it realizes a Governor of the state from the Owerri Zone extraction in 2015.
