The reported gang up by some top flight politicians, especially those who contested the 2019 governorship election against the Imo State Governor, Emeke Ihedioha, may after all be a ruse as some of those mentioned were not part of the deal.
A Newsbreak early this week had indicated that those who ran against Ihedioha in the governorship election, irrespective of different platforms, are re-aligning to form opposition against the PDP candidate.
According to details Trumpeta got, three of the candidates, Ifeanyi Araraume of the APGA, Hope Uzodinma and Uche Nwosu of APC and AA respectively were said to be working closely to fight against Ihedioha’s victory.
It was however gathered that in view of the uncertainty surrounding the Appeal Cases the aforementioned persons entered into, they are working for an alliance to have one of them fly the flag of the opposition should the law courts order for a rerun of the Governorship Election. This newspaper was further told that Araraume may be the arrowhead of the opposition where allies of the immediate past Governor Rochas Okorocha instead of advancing the case of their Nwosu are strongly behind the APGA candidate.
But recent developments have shown that Uzodinma and Nwosu are out of the coalition. Latest information available to Trumpeta has it that while Uzodinma has declared that he was not part of the reported meeting in Abuja where he met with others, Nwosu thinks otherwise about the deal.
Uzodinma, it was learnt tried to excuse himself from the Okorocha/ Araraume renewed political romance against Ihedioha by stating that going to Appeal Court to review the earlier judgment of the Election Petition Tribunal for the Governorship Election is to achieve victory other than forming a Coalition to abandon his quest for another candidate.
Trumpeta was informed that the camp of Uzodinma dismissed the said report by adding that their candidate is hopeful of victory at the Appeal Court.
Similarly, Nwosu through a Media Aide was said to have dismissed such development of abdicating his pursuit for another candidate as a ruse.
Nwosu, this newspaper further learnt is upbeat about a successful outing in the Appeal Court.
The recent words from Uzodinma and Nwosu camps, according to Trumpeta findings, have rubbished the planned Coalition to take power from Ihedioha as the trio challenging the PDP candidate at the tribunal can’t form strong synergy to present one candidate in the event Appeal Court calls for Re-run in the Imo Governorship Race.
