The new governor of Imo State, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha has been advised to refrain from acts calpable of draining the purse of the state.
As Ihedioha begins the journey to revitalise the state in line with his mantra of Rebuild Imo Project, a former State Governor and PDP Vice Presidential candidate, Peter Obi has enjoined him to avoid certain expenses that may affect the finance of the state.
Counseling Ihedioha in one of the programs for the inauguration, Obi stated that there are four things the new governor should avoid in office to maintain a clean state.
According to Obi, Ihedioha should avoid chartered jets. Said he, “Don’t fly chartered jets. Don’t waste Imo money on charted jets. Why pay for millions when you can pay 40,000 and get to your destination.
Speaking further on how to manage the office of the governor, the PDP vice Presidential candidate advised the new governor on how to handle the office of the First Lady by stating that it cost millions to maintain the office which the state governor and government cannot afford. “Imo is in a mess. Your wife is the First Lady of your house and heart, let her continue with her career”.
On other issues Ihedioha needs to avoid, Obi added, “Don’t turn Government House into a party House, those that want to drink should go to the bar.
“Listen to those that criticize you, they are your best advisers. Always find out why they were criticizing your”.
