Council chairmen and councilors who were part of Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s administration are already in panicky state over sack threat.
It would be recalled that while in office, Okorocha organized council election under autonomous community structure for chairmen and councilors to emerge.
But since the candidate Okorocha backed for governorship, Chief Uche Nwosu was unable to become his successor, there is fear that the new administration may not continue with the chairmen and councilors in office.
The fear that the new governor, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha may likely sack the chairmen and councilors became pronounced following unconfirmed reports that the PDP governor will toe the steps Okorocha took in 2011 when he became governor.
Okorocha had after his swearing in sent packing chairmen and councilors elected during the Ikedi Ohakim regime he inherited.
Already, some of the council chairmen and councilors who are in panicky state are either fine turning strategies to permeate Ihedioha for a settlement or have started taking out their items from office to avoid being caught off guard before the dissolution.
Trumpeta learnt that while the council chairmen are meeting on how to survive the new administration, the councilors are also seeking means to romance Ihedioha as a face-saving device.
At a meeting of the ALGON held recently, this newspaper was informed that the focus was on the new administration and dangers ahead. It was learnt that a special committee was raised by the embattled chairmen to find a way of meeting Ihedioha.
The councilors are not left out in search for survival path as they have also joined to seek means of escaping the looming sack.
Meanwhile, source close to the chairman of the Imo State council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri disclosed that the monarch is no longer at ease since the governor he came into power with, Okorocha, has left office.
It was however sourced that in view of the manger he came into office when his predecessor was arbitrarily sacked by Okorocha, the tendency to sholve him aside is high as the Ihedioha settles down to business.
