There is fire on the mountain at Imo state Environmental and Transitional Commission (ENTRACO) over startling revelations that an undergraduate, a level 200 student ofImoStateUniversity, Owerri and a son of a senior official of the Commission, was allegedly promoted to level 8. This development is said to have made workers of the commission unhappy as they wonder in shock and awe over such action.
The promotion of the student worker is said to have attracted the ire of the Director of Accounts and Finance (DAF) of the commission.
The DAF who is said to have been furious with the development was said to have raised eyebrows on the issue and promised to “report” the student worker from the commission since he is not entitled to such post over such issue which is said to be contrary to rules of the commission.
A source at the commission told Imo Trumpeta gathered that what infuriated workers was the fact that the student workers work attendance was up to date, when in real sense, he hardly or seldom shows up for work. This development has caused a stir in the commission as some staffers are said to be disenchanted with the situation and may protest over it. It was further learnt that the student worker is a son of one of the Accountants of the commission. Efforts by Imo Trumpeta to speak to the General Manager of ENTRACO was futile, as he was not on sit when this newspaper visited.
