Before the committee set – up the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Imo State, to investigate the activities of its scribe, George Egu could swing into action, the State chairman, Bar Eze Duruiheoma has pleaded that peace should reign, while other mechanisms would be put in place to settle the matter.
It would be recalled that this Newspaper had reported last week that Sir George Egu was under investigation by a committee headed by Chief Ragis Uwakwe, South – East Zonal officer.
However, fearing that the committee may come out with a resolution to discipline Egu, should it find him culpable, Duruiheoma waded in to avoid punishment being meted out to Egu.
Although Egu had gone to another Newspaper to refute the Imo Trumpeta report, saying he was not under any investigation, but this Newspaper still want to state that not only is Egu under investigation, it is not yet Uhuru for the Ihitte – Oboma born former Commissioner, as majority of PDP members in the state has expressed that they would be happy to see Egu’s back on the PDP door.
It would be recalled that the Okigwe zonal office of the PDP had written an invitation/warning notice to Sir Egu, through a letter dated 17 September, 2012 and signed by Dr JTU Anyanwu where the party summoned Egu to the house of Barr Vincent Okpaleke.
The letter in part read “That Okigwe Zonal Executive Committee of our Great party in our last crucial meeting held on the 17th September 2012 unanimously approved writing this notice based on these negligence laid on your person”.
Some of these “negligences” was that Egu were “invited to a meeting on 17th September 2012 to discuss on allegation you leveled against an Okigwe leader (article 21h) but you failed to attend claiming orally to be sick”
One of the allegations was that Sir Egu was the only “official who failed to sign a communiqué which all other officers of Okigwe Zone signed for the interest of the Zone” including other allegations.
