National Union Of Anambra State Students IMSU Holds Culture Day

The 2012 cultural day celebration of the National Union of Anambra State Students (NUASS) Imo State University Chapter has taken place at the University premises.

Speaking on the event, the President of the association, Mr. Kenneth Akubueze noted that the association aims at bringing students from Anambra state for mutual benefits in their social, economic and academic endeavours.

Mr. Akubueze noted that NUASS resolved to always obey the University as well at as carry indigenes of Anambra state along in the scheme of things.

He however expressed regrets that the burden of academic activities is irregular and frowned at the non-challant attitude of some students from the state towards belonging to the association.

Also speaking at the event, the Igwe of the association, Ifeanyi Ojimba expressed delight on the occasion revealing that it marks the last cultural day he would witness as well as his joy coronate a new cabinet.

Mr. Ojimba pointed out that the association tries to teach Anambra state students their language and culture and advised the students to utilize every academic opportunity and not only culture.

He urged the students of IMSU to shun negative activities including cultism, exam malpractices, armed robbery and sexual immorality.

In his opening remark, the chairman of the occasion, Ichie Nneto Ojimba of Uli commended the students for promoting their cultural heritage.

The occasion featured coronation of the new cabinet, launching of the association’s 2012/2013 almanac and masquerade exhibitions.
