Hell was let loose in one of the popular nite clubs in owerri, the Imo state capital (name in the held) when a female student of a higher institution in the state was visited with a barbaric act by members of the public.
The victim,(names withheld) witnessed a sad moment in her life when a rampaging crowd not only tossed her around for allegedly stealing a black berry phone belonging to another fellow but also tore her clothes into shred thereby leaving her stark naked.
According to sources, the fair-skinned young lady said to be a student of one of the higher institutions in the state joined other young ladies to attend one of the weekend groves organised by a popular nite club in the state capital.
Mid way into the show, the young lady was alleged to have stolen a BB phone belonging to another person. Moment after the stolen phone was allegedly found in her possession, the gathering crowd pounced on her.
Even the presence of security guards who kept watch at the numerous night frolickers and tried to save the young beautiful lady from public attack was unsuccessfully as the maddening crowd assaulted her. Within split seconds, her skimpy wears were torn including the undies which exposed the essential part of her body to the jeering public.
Efforts by her rescuers who could not bear the indecent act and nude state of the frustrated young woman was futile as her attackers made several efforts to inflict injury on her private area ,which she strongly resisted.
Body guards and security men succeeded in overpowering the threatening crowd before she was whisked to safety and let go after another cloth was provided to cover her nude state.
The incident led to the abrupt end of the nite show as most of the ladies quickly disappeared from the club arena for fear of unknown and possible attack by the mob.
Even as onlookers condemned the jungle justice meted to the young lady who was in tears when led out by body guards, some who spoke in hushed tones after the incident blamed the undergraduate for her woes adding that the love for certain materials items has lured youths into certain unwholesome and disgraceful acts.
Attempts by our reporter to verify if the incident was reported to the police were proved abortive.
