The member representing Orsu State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly as well as the Candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the last general election held in Imo state Engr Uche Agabige has called on the independent National Electoral Commission INEC to cancel the results of Orsu Local Government Areas due to regularities that marred the processes of the election.
Speaking to Journalists in his Owerri residence, the Orsu Candidate for APC said that he is not accepting the results as declared by INEC in his LGA, nothing that the election was marred by massive rigging from the APGA candidate who he accused of using fake Security operatives to stop his agents from having access to the collation centre.
Engr Agabige further informed that his supporters were manhandled by the fake Security operatives who were working for his opponent on the day of election, adding that he is wondering how he will score low vote even in his own ward Eziama where he has strong Supporters who came out en Mass to vote for him.”What happened on the 9th of March 2019 is a rape of democracy and there is no way l can accept that result when l know fully well that l won that election.”
He also told Journalists that the results where doctored on the way to the LGA where he claims that the Returning Officer was forced to declare the results under duress, he also stated that the AA,APGA Candidates teamed up to rig the election when they noticed he was leading.
Engr Agabige calls on APC and independent National Electoral Commission INEC to do the needful by cancelling the election for a re-run in the areas that were affected in order to have a free and credible election in Orsu Local government areas of the state.
The candidate also accused his predecessor for working against him by using every machinery in his power to rig his election.
He noted that the election was announced under duress by the RO who he said was hijacked by his opponent to achieve their selfish interest as he noted that he has petitioned the REC and has contacted his lawyer in order for him to look into the matter for proper legal action.
