The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Nwangele State Constituency in the recently conducted election, Dr. Johnbosco Nkpadobi, on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 organized a victory party in honour of the Imo State governor-elect, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, CON, KSC.
The celebration which was held at the palatial country home of Dr. Johnbosco Nkpadobi in Umuanu Amaigbo, leader of PDP in Nwangele LGA, saw a large turnout of party faithful and supporters, especially from the five Amaigbo wards of the party.
Speeches and addresses were made by some of the dignitaries that graced the occasion. The plank of their talks was that the victory of the party in the governorship election was an answer by God to the long prayers of the leaders, members and supporters of PDP in Imo State. They thanked God for the victory and thanked the party men and women for remaining resolute with their support for the party, the governor-elect and all the party candidates in the 2019.
In his speech, Dr. Johnbosco Nkpadobi, the PDP candidate for Nwangele State Constituency, was full of praises to God for crowning with success the efforts of the party, the governor-elect, other candidates and party leaders and members.
Dr. Nkpadobi commended the true members of Nwangele PDP for their resilience in the face of illicit politics that some Nwangele politicians that were out to collapse the party in the LGA into the political structures of other opposition parties. He thanked them for being a part of the history of those that ended the regime of a bad leader and his bad leadership in Imo State.
Speaking further, Dr. Nkpadobi urged Nwangele PDP and indeed entire Nwangele people to rise up against the era of dark politics and let there be light. He emphasized that true democrats and progressives should arise and connect the LGA to the mainstream of Imo politics from which the LGA has been marginalized for so long by the nefarious activities of some dark politicians in Nwangele.
He said: “Today, we are celebrating the victory of our great party. We are celebrating the victory of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Imo governor-elect. We deserve to celebrate as PDP reclaims the Government House in Imo State.
“We thank God for sustaining us and our party over the period of campaigns. We thank all Imo PDP leaders and members for their efforts to keep our party alive. This is especially for Rt. Hon. Ihedioha, who ensured the party was not hijacked by political saboteurs in Imo PDP. He is a great man.
“We note that some party leaders are ever interested in selling the victory of the party for their own personal benefits. Such dark politicians are always bent at selling PDP to other parties. This is very unfortunate. We must fight and put a stop to such conduct.
“We must continue to do whatever is desirable for the success and progress of the party. Now, that PDP has won the Government House, we must be ready to go the extra distance to resist all enemies of PDP that are ever willing to collapse PDP into the political structures of the other parties. I therefore congratulate PDP for the victory.
A chieftain of the party in the LGA in his speech stated that he confirms that since the emergence of Dr. Johnbosco Nkpadobi in the political scene of Nwangele PDP since 2017, the party has earned a new identity which reflects the PDP status as a reformed and rebranded PDP.
According to him: “I thank our leader, Dr. Johnbosco, for providing Nwangele PDP with a fresh understandable leadership and direction style. Since 2017 when he publicly declared his commitment to contribute to the growth and development of PDP in Nwangele, Imo State and Nigeria, the party has received a new identity. We are happy about that and would love that to continue. He is a leader in whom we are well pleased.”
The Nwangele PDP victory party for Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the governor-elect, was attended by large number of leaders, members and supporters.
