ORU AND SOUTH – EAST STUDENTS HONOURS OKEMILI

Oru Students Association of Nigeria led by Comrade Obiwuru John and South East students parliament led by Comrade Samuel Godstime were theImo House of Assembly to H onour Barr. Greg Okemili member, representing Oru East state constituency for his selfless service as a legislator in the promotion of democracy in Nigeria.

Comrade Samuel Godstime said that they nominated Barr. Okemili as a result of his contribution towards making good laws in the state. He said that many Igbo students are pleased with his legislative work and that is why they selected him. On the method of selection, Comrade Godstime said that 772 student leaders out of 912 student leaders in their last siting nominated and casted their votes in favour of his nomination.

While Comrd Obiwuru John said that Oru students are not only happy for his selfless service as a distinguished legislature but also as a true son of the soil. He said that they have chosen him as a special guest in their forth coming traditional culture in June and solicited for his support on the Oru scholars magazine they will launch soon.

Responding, Barr. Okemili thanked the students of Oru extraction for deeming it fit to award him. He shared his experience as a student and his first time in politics. Urged them to strive for their success. He said the students parliaments are doing the work of lawmakers in a macro way and encouraged them to be bold in speech making.
