INEC

The likehood of voters shunning this weekend’s rescheduled election is high as fear of apathy towards the Presidential/National Assembly poll looms.

Difficulties faced by Nigerians and foreigners who came for the February 16, 2019 election to produce the President and members of the National Assembly may force  voters’ to keep away this Saturday. Our reporter who sampled the opinions of people, especially those in Imo State observed that those who spent transport fares from far and wide  to come back home have vowed not to return for the rescheduled election even as  some foreign observers may not come back to Nigeria again for the exercise.

There are also fears that many Imolites, especially those in the rural areas may abandon election to undertake their farming and other local businesses.

One of the villagers who spoke to our reporter in Mbaise revealed that his people are disappointed with the INEC boss and of which they will not be part of the rescheduled election as it appears that some political parties no longer have confidence in INEC.

Many Traders when accosted  have vowed to open their shops or stay at home to have their rest instead of wasting their time at polling centers for election which they are not very sure would still hold.

Some of elites who spoke to our reporter demanded that the INEC boss should consider it necessary to resign as a matter of urgency importance for Nigeria to move forward.
