The former Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Chief Barr. Chris Okewulonu has cautioned Imo people to vote wisely in the forthcoming general elections so as to elect a credible candidate for the number one seat of the state.

Addressing mammoth crowd during the Launching/Empowerment programme organized by Mezie Mbaitoli Youths Foundation held at Ogbaku Central School on 30th December, 2018, Chief Okewulonu who also served in dual capacity as Commissioner for Information and Works during former governor Achike Udenwa’s regime described Mbaitoli as a critical council area that requires critical message.”This is not a political gathering, but let me seize this opportunity to inform you that 2019 is a year of decision making. It determines the future of our children and next generation. This is a year to pay back in coin those who have failed the society. Mbaitoli is a critical LGA in Imo State, that’s why I have come to deliver this critical message. The present government in Imo state has destroyed judiciary, civil service, local government system. No room for employment opportunities. Former governor, Ohakim created a platform to employ 10,000 youths yearly, but the present administration dislodged it. I served when government was committed to provide good governance to her citizens. Chief Udenwa did not endorse his in-law to succeed him. Imo is currently witnessing crime against humanity. PDP is known for its good governance”, he argued.

The former Secretary to the State Government who hails from Obowo LGA in Okigwe zone went down his memory lane arguing that it is the turn of Owerri zone to produce the next governor of Imo state since Orlu and his zone have taken their slots.”Some of us from Okigwe and Orlu zones have decided to support Owerri zone. And Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha of the People’s Democratic Party stands tall among other governorship candidates from Owerri zone. Ihedioha is the most credible and experienced candidate who will be committed to provide good governance if elected the next governor. He is an upright man. Imo people should all support him”, the former state scribe urged.

Earlier Chief Okewulonu described the founder of Mezie Mbaitoli Youths Foundation, Hon. Stanley Chimaroke Meziem as a man of many parts thanking him for creating a platform that will benefit the youths of Mbaitoli LGA.

Those present during the occasion were Zenith Labour Party candidate for Mbaitoli state constituency in Imo House of Assembly, Barr. Chima Onwukwe, Accord Party Assembly Candidate for Mbaitoli, Hon. Emeka Ahaneku, Chief Emma Meziem, the father of the CEO of Mezie Mbaitoli Youths Foundation, members and 12 wards coordinators of the Foundation among others.
