The tremendous support, solidarity and acceptance of Barr. AIoysius Osuji, Imo state governorship candidate of Mass Action Joint Alliance (MAJA) Party by the electorate for his impeccable track record, background and people-oriented blue point of action is spreading like wild fire, as the leadership and members of Nigeria Union of pensioners in the state, recently eulogized the virtues of the U.K based international lawyer of repute and resolved to throw their weight behind him.
The guber hopeful, bothered by the plight of the pensioners, visited their state secretariat, at New Owerri area of the state capital recently to feel their pulse. He assured them of better days ahead, as there will soon be light at the end of the tunnel. He urged them to support his ambition and embrace MAJA party as the most credible option for the elusive democratic dividends and a more glorious further.
The pensioners thanked him for the visit and commended his antecedents, pedigree and impeccable track record, which distinguish him from other candidates in the contest for Douglas House.
They assured him that their numeric strength and that of members of their extended families can swing the pendulum of victory in favour of a credible, experienced, humane and purposeful candidate like him.
They decried how they have been ravaged by hunger, pain and frustration occasioned by non-payment of their pensions and gratuity by the APC rescue mission government.
In his response, Barr. Osuji regretted that their effort and contributions to societal growth is neither appreciated nor rewarded. He urged them to support his ambition, as he is motivated by the desire to serve and will definitely put smiles on their faces by ensuring that all their statutory emoluments are paid regularly “I will also use my security votes for the four years, I will be in office to offset the arrears of your pensions and gratuity in addition to building an old people’s home in the state.
He also unveiled his programme of action which includes provision of quality education, functional and accessible health care, diversification of agriculture, ensure security of lives and property by creating employment for the teeming jobless youths and enabling environment for actualization of dreams, proved alternative and efficient power supply to boost socio economic development.
The erudite lawyer and cooperate consultant sand his government will place premium on due process, rule of law, ensure prudence, and accountability by blocking financial loop holes and conserve funds for Infrastructural development.
When contacted the director general of Barr. Osuji’s campaign organization, Hon Chikezie Oguejiofor, stated that, his principal is on a divine mission to reform the state, liberate the people from the bondage of mal administration, enthrone credible, and people oriented governance.
