The confusion raging within the Action Alliance, AA is getting heightened every day, as two National Chairmen are lying claim to the party’s position, even as two Governorship candidates are fighting over the party’s single ticket in Imo State.
Trumpeta can report that two persons, Hon Kenneth Udeze and Tunde Anifowose Kelani are fighting over who is the authentic National Chairman of the party.
At the same time, while a faction of AA is supporting the 2019 electoral success of President Mohammadu Buhari, another faction is rooting for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to be the president of Nigeria in 2019.
In Imo State, while Chief Uche Nwosu, the son inlaw of Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha claims to be the Governorship torch Bearer of the party in the State, Chief Leonard Okolienta maintains that he holds the AA’s Governorship ticket, which he said was given to him since October, 2018.
In a release signed by the Leonard Okolienta’s campaign Organization, Okolienta insists that Imo AA has no other Governorship candidate except him, pointing out that Chief Uche Nwosu is not a registered member of AA, to talk of participating in the party’s Governorship primaries, which was conducted with authorized Government Agencies present and participating in the exercise.
This disturbing situation has caused confusion among Imo AA members across board, including those loyal to Uche Nwosu and Okolienta.
Apart from the Uche Nwosu versus Okolienta saga, this Newspaper discovered that even in the State constituencies, some of the serving State Assembly members who joined Uche Nwosu to AA, are shocked that there were State Assembly candidates of AA before they joined the party.
A case in point is in Ngor Okpala LGA, where one Emuka has raised alarm of how Hon Obinna Egu is plotting to snatch his ticket away from him and has vowed to fight it to the last day even till the election proper.
