The Deputy President of Ohaneze Ndiigbo in South Africa, Dikejiejemba Chuks Chilaka has described the recent law suits instituted by the Owerri zone Senator, Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, against the 2019 Imo State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, flagbearer, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the party and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as efforts in futility, which will only amount to disaffection between brothers from same zone.
Recall that Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu had filed law suits against the declaration of Hon Emeka Ihedioha as the authentic Imo PDP candidate by the Nation’s electoral umpire.
Ihedioha emerged winner with a total of 1723 votes against the second runner up, Samdaddy who polled 1282.
Against this backdrop, the Senator had claimed of electoral malpractices, hence the backbone for approaching the court.
It would be recalled that since the institution of the cases, the victory of Ihedioha have been upheld on several Court verdict.
Speaking with Trumpeta correspondent in a telephone conversation, an Imo State born humanist, who doubles as the Coordinator, Emeka Ihedioha Patriotic Diaspora Liberation Movement, Dikejiejemba Chuks Chilaka enjoined Samdaddy to close ranks and work in harmony with the victory of Chief Emeka Ihedioha.
He opined that approaching the Court on such a transparent October 1st, 2018 primary of the PDP is tantamount to querrying his integrity and sense of reasoning.
Also, the South African based business mogul tasked the Senator to work harmoniously for the development of Imo, as well as reclaiming the lost glories it is known for.
Dikejiejemba Chuks Chilaka told this Newspaper that the emergence of Ihedioha as the 2019 candidate for the PDP deserves a collective responsibility, so as to unseat the incumbent administration from further misrule.
Speaking further, the Coordinator, Ihedioha Imo Patriotic Front South Africa, and Coordinator, Imo Diaspora for Ihedioha Worldwide expressed optimism that Imo will bounce back under the administration of Ihedioha.
According to him, ‘It is laughable to know that someone like Senator Samuel Anyanwu could drag the victory of Ihedioha to court, even when the said election was the most credible one since the existence of democracy in our State. There were adequate Security operatives, the INEC observers, league of Journalists that monitored the exercise, and a host of other delegates. How then did Emeka Ihedioha manipulated the result as claimed by Samdaddy? ”
Dikejiejemba Chuks continued, “My brother Sam, it will yield you no results. It is better to quit now there is still time, and ganear more support for the election bid of Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha, unless you have decided to pitch tent with another party. ”
In a related development, he recapped that for the desired governance expected in Imo, it can only be actualized through the leadership and administrative acumen of Emeka Ihedioha.
He therefore called on all and sundry to rally round and ensure the enthronement of the Owerri zone born politician,and former House of Representatives Deputy Speaker into the Imo State Douglas House in 2019.
He advised the people of Owerri zone to use this opportunity in getting a sound governor who is ready to fix Imo back on track, pointing out that they don’t need a Deputy Governorship slot, just as some people are jumping for it under another political parties.
“Any Mbaise man Deputising should join his kit and kin to support Emeka Ihedioha in liberating imo”.
He said, “Ihedioha’s emergence is predestined, hence the mass movement from all part of the world, France, United kingdom, Republic of Ireland (Dublin), across the Pacific and Atlantic. Ihedioha has remained an enigma of quest of rebuilding Imo.His Excellency, Emeka Ihedioha will also be honored by the Imo Diaspora for Good Governance programme on the 6th December, 2018, where he will deliver a key note address in Washington DC”.
