The Zonal Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP in Orlu zone ,Chief Aloysius Igwe has urged Imolites to urgently call Imo State Governor,Rochas Okorocha to order .
Igwe , while fielding questions from Trumpeta in Owerri on Thursday, also asked Okorocha’s party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, to look into the governor’s leadership style and redirect his steps.
He said since the beginning of Gov. Okorochas government in Imo State, the Governor has embarked on several elephant projects that have no economic impact in the State .
Igwe stated that it was saddening that while several Imo workers and pensioners were groaning over unpaid salaries and pension, Okorocha was busy wasting millions of naira on building and demolishing of substandard projects and as well as moulding statues.
“I want to say that the condition of civil servants in Imo State and that of the pensioners is very pathetic. And to make matters worse, Governor Okorocha instead of doing the needful is busy wasting taxpayers’ money .”
“So, Imo people should not keep silent over this; we should tell Okorocha to stop lavishing our fund ,the ideal of building and destroying must stop . He should use that money to pay workers and pensioners.”
I enjoin Okorocha to prioritize salaries and pensioners , the Orlu Zonal Chairman urged politicians to show maturity as the 2019 general election approached.
He pointed out that some of these projects are characterized by haphazardness, touch and die style, China production model, and inconsistence or programme discontinuity, and rendering comatose several agencies and
ministries in the State.
“We are right now almost in the season of Christmas and it is very sad that some pensioners have not been paid. It is not right at all, and for that reason I’m appealing to the conscience of the governors to make issues of salary and pensions a priority.
He further said his calling on imolites to prepare to use their vote to vote out the rescue mission government out and enthrone the PDP government with sense of direction
