The Peoples Democratic Party has declared that there is no room for political hijackers in the state.

Addressing Journalists Tuesday, the Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Damian Opara stated that taking a look at the political scene in the state where tickets were hijacked and kidnapped by desperate politicians, if the likes of APGA and APC candidates emerge, they would do worst than Okorocha.

He stressed that the process which produced the likes of Senators Ifeanyi Araraume and Hope Uzodinma was not only morally wrong but failed to abide by the laid down rules in the party, adding that, Imolites should open their eyes and not make further mistakes so as not to destroy the economy of the state, through bad leadership.

He maintained that, any good politician who has the people at heart, would depend on the people’s choice for good governance.

Speaking about the just concluded PDP primaries, Mr.Opara affirmed that only PDP followed the structural framework of the party to produce a candidate through a credible, fair and transparent primaries before the full glare of party executives and delegates.

He asserted that PDP has proved its mettle to be part of the people, as he urged Imolites not to abandon credible candidates their sons and daughters voted as leaders.

Speaking further, he informed that Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha’s choice of Gerald Irona as running mate, which he maintained was entirely the candidate’s choice, was based on the zoning formulae in the party which also mandates the zones to have various positions to be distributed equitably, which was properly and carefully done.

Opara also informed that the party is not under any crisis as alleged but efforts are being made to sooth all frayed nerves due to the fall out of the primaries as he called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Imo and Abuja not to do anything funny to truncate the proceedings of the general elections in 2019.
