An air of uncertainty surrounding whether or not the 2019 flagbearer of the Imo State Chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume has been made open, with an authoritative source which revealed that Araraume is yet to announce his Deputy or Running mate.
Araraume’s pronouncement as the authentic APGA flagbearer for the 2019 Imo gubernatorial election had been raising dust in some quarters, especially among those who felt cheated by the outcome of the exercise.
Following his announcement as the winner is the current rumour making rounds on the blogosphere, credited to the Okigwe zone born APGA candidate, saying he has picked a Deputy from Owerri zone.
This has however not gone down well for some people who do not only see the circulating rumour as an aberration to “effective consultation” but also frowned at the choice of the would be running mate.
Meanwhile, a source close to Senator Araraume in his online post yesterday has debunked the news.
According to the post, “Please the rumour going around about Senator Araraume naming a running mate is false. The incoming governor is still consulting with top leaders of the party, business leaders and religious leaders. Be rest assured that when the decision is made, it will be a choice Ndi Imo would be proud of, for now there is no running mate to the incoming governor”.
Trumpeta Newspaper also gathered that the response from Araraume’s allie has doused curiosity between majority who may not wait to see who will fly the APGA flag with the Isiebu born politician.
