Immediate past Secretary to the Imo State Government, Ugwumba George Eche has continued to receive endorsements across boards to ascend the number one position in the state.
Latest among them is, “Orlu Regional Assembly Ghana”. The group Monday gave her support to the former SSG, describing him as what the state needs.
In a release signed by the leader of the group, Mr. Chucks Ibe and made available to newsmen, they stated that their resolve for endorsing him was necessitated by verifiable records of his good works not only as a government functionary but as a private citizen.
According to them, Sir Eche has paid his dues in ensuring the development of the state at large, adding that as SSG, he did his best to unite every group including Orlu people living in Ghana and beyond.
Mr. Ibe, an indegene of Amaigbo and Coordinator of the group in Ghana expressed their unalloyed support to Sir Eche, saying that the group would continue to mobilize her members to ensure the victory of the Obiangwu born technocrat in the 2019 election.
The Coordinator while commending the credibility and administrative know-how of Eche, further resolved to resist every attempt to lure any Orlu indigene including their members to be induced against the aspiration of the former Accountant General of Imo State.
Part of the release reads, “…as members of this noble group made up of realists, after thorough scrutiny on the qualifications and reputations of those contesting the Governorship seat in Imo State, our group discovered that Ugwumba George Eche possesses the needed qualification, soundness, and can easily penetrate into the minds of an average Imolite for easy political success. On this note, having unanimously endorsed Sir Eche for the highest position in the state, we therefore call on other well thinking Imo citizens both at home and in Diaspora to follow suit. Sir Eche will not only win the would be primary election but will come out successful in the general election come 2019”
The group therefore called on any Orlu man vying for the number one seat in the state to step down, describing the decision for the zone to contest the position after serving for sixteen years as an act of greed and affront against the common wealth of Imo people.
