The verdict of the court is in order. To be sure, it has strengthened the rule of law in Imo State and reestablished the collective subjugation of all to the laws of the land. Removing an officeholder even when a subsisting court order stated otherwise was the height of impunity.
The nullification of the impeachment is fit testimony to the malleability of the parliament we have in Imo State. It further reminds us of the need to elect credible and morally astute men to the legislature. In addition, it has accentuated the confusion that has defined the APC in Imo and eloquently affirmed the in electability of the party.
In his own reaction Barrister Humphrey Anumudu explained that the recent court action was victory for Nigeria and democracy at large.
He said that the Coalition is optimistic of victory as he urged members to be patient, resolute and committed to the cause. Coalition he said is all about good governance and making sure that the needs of the people are provided. Coalition emphatically has an intention and it is intact.
Anumudu used the opportunity to reiterate his resolve and that of his followers for a good leadership that will give listening ears to all shades of opinions, provide all an inclusive economic growth and robust accommodation for different players, pointing out that that is the desire of an average Imolites.
He once again wished the Deputy Governor Prince Madumere well in his struggle to the new Imo of our desire.
