The defection news about Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume dumping the All Progressives Congress APC for the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, has been finally accomplished.
Trumpeta Newspaper few weeks ago had reported of the Senator’s secret move from APC to APGA, alongside his formidable party structures and massive supporters.
Confirming the earlier report, the Isiebu born Senator yesterday, through a post made by one his close aides, Barr Ebere Osuji, was spotted comfortably seated at the ongoing Retreat and book launch of APGA at Awka, Anambra State.
Araraume was seen with his supporters, who have also resolved to go wherever their political master goes. Osuji in the post circulating online states “it is no longer rumour, but a reality. Senator Araraume formally and with strength joins APGA. He has picked his expression of interest and nomination forms”.
In a related development, Araraume has picked his nomination and expression of interest forms for the governorship race under APGA. This was also confirmed by Osuji’s post.
Reasons for the new marriage with the “Okokorokoo” family is what still keeps his loyalists and Imolites in the clouds, although the Senator is billed to make an official statement soon.
Meanwhile, the presence of Araraume in APGA midst and reported joining of the party is raising anxiety among the party faithful in Imo, especially those of other governorship aspirants.
Before Araraume, a governorship aspirant stepped into APGA, there are not less than 24 hopefuls wishing to pick the party’s ticket for 2019.
His presence was said to have raised a concern from other guber aspirants who have started developing cold feet ahead the party primaries.
