Isiebu Autonomous Community of Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo state last weekend celebrated the second anniversary of their new yam festival after becoming fledged Autonomous Community in Imo state.
The Traditional ruler of Isiebu Autonomous Community, H.R.H Eze (Sir) Hycent .O. Onyenankeya, the Ebu 1 of Isiebu during his speech, praised the efforts of the present administration headed by Owelle Rochas Okorocha and his Rescue Mission Agenda.
Eze Onyenankeya pleading with the Governor to remember the people of Isiebu in his good plans for Imo state, in an effort to providing an industry in Isiebu Autonomous Community, adding that the people of Isiebu has well educated men and women, thus, with an employment rate below 3.5%.
During a brief interview, with news men Eze Onyenankeya stated that the new yam festival is a significant ceremony which showcases the traditional and cultural inheritance of the communities in Igbo land, adding that as it is a gift from the Almighty, it is also respected as custom demands in the whole of Igbo land, and advised Igbos and Imolites every where they may find themselves to live an exemplary live worth emulating “as the Igbo man is known for his wisdom, bravery and courage” he thanked all for their massive turn-out.
Earlier, speaking during a sermon with references from the Holy Bible, Rev. Fr. John Eyinnaya advised Eze Onyenankeya and members of his cabinet to always be upright in their judgments as they are seen as the pillars vested with the responsibility to carry Isiebu to the promise land.
Others present for the ceremony were Ezes from other communities in Isiala Mbano LGA and Rev. Fr. Dr. Mortfort Okanuikpo, Father founder of the congregations of the Sisters and Sons of the Heart of Love of Jesus and Mary, Ugwu-Mso Universal Centre Orlu Imo state and Rev. Fr. Okenagba Innocent.
