A chieftain of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Ochudo Martin Agbaso has come up strong to clarify the air on his political standing, saying that he is and remain a strong committed member of APGA.

Agbaso who is speaking for the first time after his court matter challenging the chairmanship of Chief Victor Oye as the National Chairman of APGA explained that people should not misconstrue his position simply because he challenged the National Chairman in court.

“My court matter has nothing to do with my relationship with the National Chairman of the party or the party” Rather he said that if anybody at any time does not agrea with party rules at any point that the best option is to challenge it. Adding that whatever is the opinion of the court just like in his case becomes final and binding.

Chief Agbaso who maintained that he has no intention to dump the party said, “You cannot build a house and abandon it for others. So all my commitments to APGA still stands intact. I will remain in APGA and do everything to ensure that the party wins the 2019 Governorship in Imo State.

Answering a question on his relationship with Governor Rochas Okorocha who emerged as a Governor through his wings, Agbaso explained, “I am the biggest loser, money and almost integrity”.

Going down memory lane, Chief Agbaso said that the problem is that the party made mistakes in the choice of its candidates in the past. Because of that, he insisted that he will not support anybody this time around who does not possess good qualities.

“We need leaders with sound mentality to create wealth and capacity. I will not support anybody wanton in these qualities. My heart bleeds since 7 years ago for supporting what did not work, what became a failure. And I will not do it again in 2019”, he assured.

Giving further clarification on his role in the 2017 general elections, Chief Agbaso said, “we made mistakes in 2017 in who flew the flag even though I had no personal right to choose who should do that. Chief Victor Umeh and Chief Agbaso did not give ticket to Okorocha then but the party leadership because no one individual gives ticket. Rather, everybody including the church, the trade unions like N.U.R.T.W, market traders among others who should be blamed and not Agbaso alone”.

On the entrance of Mr Stanley Amuchie in the Governorship race of APGA, Agbaso said “I am not the National leader or chairman of APGA so how can I bring Amuchie. However, you should support verifiable established people who knows how to get Imo State working, rebuild infrastructure, create wealth and all have you. So, if that person is Stanley, he will have my support and so it be”
