As parties roll out guidelines for the conduct of the primaries ahead the 2019 elections, Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha will witness mass resignation from his cabinet, Trumpeta gathered.
Party guidelines of APC and that of INEC at the disposal of this newspaper have it that a person holding appointive position would be expected to resign to run for fresh position.
However, similar to what may have transpired in 2014 before the 2015 election, Okorocha may again ask his appointees seeking political office in next year’s general election to quit from office and face their future ambition.
Those likely to be affected are the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Uche Nwosu, who has intention to run for Governor.
Others are Kingsley Uju (Deputy Chief of Staff) Commissioners like Obinna Mbata and Nnamdi Obiareri. While Uju is angling to be in the Federal House for Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta Federal Constituency, Mbata and Obiareri want Owerri State Assembly and Senate of Okigwe zone respectively.
Eche, the SGI is also tipped to be eyeing the Ngor Okpala/Aboh Mbaise Federal Constituency, same for Obi who is asking for the Ideato Federal Constituency position.
In 2014 ahead 2015 election, Okorocha asked those seeking elective positions to step aside from his cabinet.
