The crisis rocking the Imo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC has been likened to the quest for who controls the party structure.

This is as the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Hope Uzodinma has said the party belongs to all card carrying members, and not to one person or a particular family.

It would be recalled that of recent, there have been power tussle rocking the party, which ended up producing two major factions.

While one is being controlled by the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and Mr Dan Nwafor as the State Chairman, (Agburu camp), the other by Senator Araraume (the Allied Forces or Coalition) with Chief Hillary Eke as the Chairman.

Against this backdrop, the Orlu zone Senator, Hope Uzodinma over the weekend in a public function at his Omuma country home, Oru East carpets Governor Okorocha over claims of having the soul of Imo APC.

Without any equivocation, the Chairman, Southern Senators’ Forum, and the Board of Trustees member of APC said the party does not either belong to Okorocha, family or an entity, but is a party of all and sundry.

The fiery Oru politician advised the governor and others arrogating themselves as sole owners of the party to desist from doing so.

In his exact words, Senator Uzodinma said, “Let me make this clear, the APC does not belong to any individual. It does not belong to the President, and if it does not belong to the President, then it cannot belong to the governor. APC belongs to all Nigerians. It is the collective enterprise of all Nigerians, so let no one delude himself that the party belongs to him or to his family”.

Assuring his supporters of making his 2019 political ambition public in no distant time, ‘Onwa Oyoko’ charged all to be focused, and see the present struggle for power as an integral part of politics, hence, the need to fight for what they believe in.
