The News of the arrest of Comrade Precious Nwadike by Police (Special Anti Robbery Squad) SARS came to Journalists in Imo State as a shock, as it was first rumoured that he was kidnapped.
Nwadike is the publisher of Watchdog Newspaper in Imo State, and he is contesting for the Orlu Senatorial zone election under the United Peoples Party, UPP. At about 11am yesterday, a phone call from a Journalist told Trumpeta Newspaper that Precious Nwadike may have been kidnapped as his whereabout was unknown.
However, after much enquiries it was unveiled that Nwadike was arrested by a squad of the dread Anti Robbery Squad, at (Ogbosisi) Orlu Timber Market.
Following this discovery some journalists in the State visited the Special Anti Robbery Squad office Owerri.
There they were told that no such person was arrested by the Owerri Team, except it may be the Abuja Squad.
Further inquiries by the journalists led the police men on duty to lead them to the Abuja Squad, where Nwadike was found under going interrogation.
Attempts to speak with him by the Journalist were resisted by the police who politely asked the journalists to wait and come later.
But until this publication, it has not be established what was Nwadike’s crime, whether it was because of what his Newspaper published, or because of his political involvements or other matters.
