FATHER OF MISSING CHILD CRIES FOWL – Demands Justice

Sir Sylvester Odor is a native of Umuikea, Umuoma Nekede in the Owerri West L.G.A Imo state who’s son who was 2yrs 7months old was abducted at the St Patrick’s Catholic Nekede on 30th October 2011 during a church service, is now lamenting his experiences with the process the police and the judiciary handled the matter and a similar matter also.

He is however yawning for justice and is calling on the Imo state police command to review the matter and charge the accused in the Owerri magistrate court.

According to Sir Odor, his missing son Kingsley Chukwuebuka Odor attended the above named church alongside his senior brother and the house maid called Chiamaka on the fateful day and later his senior brother opted to ease himself, but eventually overstayed where he went. Worried by his long absence, the maid went to search for him and eventually brought him inside the church but unfortunately Kingsley Chukwuebuka was out of the church hail
According to Odor his maid Chiamaka sighted the missing boy with a woman whom they sat with at the gate of the church but could not raise any eyebrow or shout until they passed the gate and disappeared.

The matter was reported to the Nekede police station, as a result, the church tightened its security network and screened people subsequently, but on March 2012 a woman by name Stella Oliko who hailed from Edo state was intercepted at the gate of the church with a boy and a girl below 4 years by the security agents of the church.

Investigations revealed that the lady was nearly lynched if not the presence of the anti-kidnapping squard of the Imo state police command, who came and whisked her away immediately the parents of the two kids came and took their children away.

Sir Odor then revealed that after police investigations an identification parade was conducted and fortunately his maid Chiamaka who was 11 years then and who took the missing child to the church vividly identified the Stella Oliko as the person who took Kinsley Chukwuebuka away trough the church gate. However the accused Stella Oliko was charged to Ihiagwu magistrates court and was granted bail but then Sir Odor is not satisfied with the procedure of charging the matter to court asking whether what the police charged the Stella Oliko of child trafficking is baillable at the magistrate or not, He is also asking whether the civil procedure rules are applicable or not in court, adding whether it is proper for a court clerk to grant bail to an accused person without the magistrate sifting over the matter.

Even though a lawyer from the legal aid council, who hails fromEdostate appeared, Odor still believes the true justice is yet to prevail on the matter, Sir Odor is then calling on the director of public prosecution DPP to look into the matter and transfer the case to the Owerri magisterial division.
