The governorship ambition of one of the in-laws of the Imo State governor, Chuks Ololo has continued to generate reactions in the State following the manner he has resuscitated the urge to be the number one citizen of the State.

Ololo is among the governorship aspirants warming up to run for the governorship position of the State in 2019.

Trumpeta learnt that at the initial stages, he was among those tipped for the position alongside the anointed candidate of the governor and another in-law to the Okorocha’s Chief Uche Nwosu.

But when it appeared that Ololo’s ambition was a distraction to the focus of the Rescue Mission members on Nwosu’s ambition, the husband of Okorocha’s younger sister and serving commissioner in the state government, Ogechi Ololo was subtly asked to withdraw from the race.

This newspaper recalls that in some meetings held with APC chieftains of the Rescue Mission extraction, Okorocha repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the ambition of Ololo and went further to threaten about sacking the younger sister for allowing the husband dare him by going against the quest to have Nwosu as his anointed successor.

Trumpeta further gathered that apart from several family meetings of the Okorocha’s to discuss the matter, campaign vehicles that and political structures initially in his control were shifted to Nwosu’s side in order to conform to the Governor’s interest.

Also Ogechi survived sack when Ololo reportedly dumped his ambition.

It was however learnt that the return of Ololo’s ambition might not be unconnected to the purported Option B formula the governor is employing to ensure he produces a successor in Imo APC. The issue of Option B came up within the family circle to avoid a complete loss of the ticket should the only option available becomes that of Owerri zone producing the candidate.

Sources in Government House, Owerri, however revealed that in a desperate bid not to put his eggs in one basket, Okorocha has another option should the Nwosu project fail. The Option, according to his followers is to chose a reliable ally from Owerri zone where Ololo hails from among the favourable candidates of the governor, Nwosu, is from Orlu zone the other two zones are agitating against for 2019 guber.

To dance to the tune of the canvassers for Owerri zone, Okorocha is said to have allowed Ololo, another of his in-law to continue his quests for the governorship.

Signs that Ololo has gotten a clearance to go ahead is the silence of the governor over his renewed ambition as well as the continued operation of the wife as Commissioner for Happiness in the State.

Further information also has it that should Nwosu not work out, Ololo can satisfy the expectation of the Governor to have one of his own as successor.

However, reacting over the matter, Ololo who spoke at his Omeneji campaign office, in Owerri, noted that it was an insult to attribute his ambition to his in law going by his experience, knowledge and education.

Ololo said “let me say this. I am not the governor’s candidate. My aspiration is for the people of Imo State and not based on my inlaw ship to Governor Rochas Okorocha but all about perfecting the direction of God. I am nobody’s candidate”
