OKOROCHA VS IMO COUNCIL CHAIRMEN COMMITTEE Group Faults Stan Dara’s Appointment As Chairmen.

The appointment of Hon Stan Dara by the Imo State House of Assembly to head the Peace Committee to resolve the face – off between the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and elected Council Chairmen, has come under heavy attack by Imo people.

Many of those who spoke to Imo Trumpeta said that Hon Stan Dara has more sympathy for the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, than many of its members, even though he belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

They argued that a more neutral person should have been appointed even from among the APGA Lawmakers, than Dara who is the “mail runner” for the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha at Imo Assembly.

It was alleged that Stan Dara is only pretending to be a member of the PDP in flesh, while spiritually  he is APGA and works for APGA.

They argued that Stan Dara cannot be neutral in his dealings in the Peace Committee as his roles in working for Okorocha’s interests in the House are open and well documented.

It was alleged that Stan Dara was the man between Okorocha and other House members, weeks ago when Okorocha wanted to arm – twist the House to approve some obnoxious funds for him.

“While other members of the PDP in the House stood their grounds, it was Dara who was attending meetings with the Governor at Government House with APGA members” the source told Imo Trumpeta.

Imo Trumpeta was told that it still remains strange how Stan Dara of the PDP won his election in Orsu LGA to return to the Assembly, while the Governorship candidate of his party, failed in the election that took place same time and day, with his.

“The man is simply flowing with PDP, soon, mark my words, he will join APGA to avoid all these subterfuges” our source said.

Sam Dara is a two time Lawmaker representing Orsu constituency, and was recently appointed to head a Committee to resolve the crises between Governor Okorocha and PDP elected council Chairmen and Councilors.

Meanwhile, a source from Imo Assembly told Imo Trumpeta that Dara was chosen to head the Committee because of his experience and good conduct in the House, pointing out that his colleagues have respect for the Lawmaker, and assured that he will live above board in making sure that the committee does its assignment without bias.

“On whether he is a strong member of PDP, he is one of the PDP hardest followers who defend the party at all times in the House of Assembly” the source told this Newspaper.
