Fraud Accusations Rock Oguoma Led APC, As Isu People Accuse Asika of Alleged Malpractices

The last is yet to be heard of Hon Chris Oguoma led Imo APC faction, following series of accusations and allegations from some leaders, stakeholders and the party over the conduct of the primaries in the just concluded chairmanship and councillorship in Isu LGA.

A major stakeholder of the party in the LGA and member representing the State constituency Hon Mrs Ngozi Obiefule alongside ten others comprising ward chairmen are providing evidences and documents to prove the alleged fraud and malpractices during the conduct at Isu council.

A strong worded petition concerning these irregularities endorsed by ten out of the 11 ward chairmen alongside 50 APC members in the LGA has been submitted to the governor, who is the leader of the party and the faction chairman on acting capacity.

There were ample evidence of fraud and other irregularities during the exercise which is evident in petitions already submitted to the executive Gov Owelle Rochas Okorocha and the Imo State appointed acting APC chairman, from Isu people and leaders.

The Honourable member for Isu House of Assembly at the party secretariat in the evening of the local government chairmanship primaries accused Goefrey Asika for allegedly rewriting results to favour a preferred candidates he just to favour his own loyalists. Eye witness report that evening at the State APC party office, disclosed that it was a drama as the female lawmaker caught them red handed and consequently seized the process.

According to one youth who identified himself as Paul from Isu, Chief Asika’s agents equally stormed a voting centre where APC members lined up behind one Wisdom Nnadi who is a partial blind man and the Director-general to the political structure of Hon Ngozi Obiefule of Imo State House of Assembly. Victory was denied Wisdom Nnadi because of perceived loyalty to Hon Ngozi Obiefule.

Another pathetic and callous act of the Oguoma Exco member is that of one Mrs Comfort Obiefule at the councillorship primary denied of her over-whelming victory on the ground that she bears same surname and loyalty to Chief (Mrs) Ngozi Obiefule.

Across the 27 Local Govt areas are reports of irregularities, fraud of unprecedented magnitude which has now made APC more of the old order.

When the honourable member representing Isu in the Imo Assembly Hon Ngozi Obiefule was contacted, she expressed lots of Regrets over the despicable acts of some leaders in the society. She frowned at the activities of leaders like Asika who does not understand what reformation is all about, she alleged that actors like Asika are those painting the good works of our governor and APC in Imo with mud. She however expressed hopes that the governor as the leader of the party and the acting state chairman Chief Oguoma will see reasons to refresh the confidence of Isu people.

Meanwhile, a petition demanding for Justice by the 10 ward chairman out of 11 wards in Isu local government area equally signed by more than 50 stakeholders of Isu APC is already at Imo State Government House as well as with Chief Chris Oguoma.

When Chief Asika was contacted, he denied the whole allegation, saying that the claim by Ward Chairmen that there was no primaries is not true. The interesting development is the claim by Imo ISIEC officials that there was no election in Isu.
