Details of how the political force in Imo APC who mesmerized Governor Rochas Okorocha and followers for the soul of the party took possession of the structure of the party have gradually emerged.
Trumpeta can authoritatively reveal that a kind of mutual agreement was reached by the party members who formed the coalition to resist Okorocha’s attempt at capturing the offices from ward to LGA and State levels.
It was gathered that a former practice where the zones and LGAs of the PDP were shared to some party leaders between 2006/7, otherwise known as “Kassim” formula has reincarnated and become the pattern the allied forces used in sharing the LGAs in Imo.
According Trumpeta findings saw some of the big wigs and front liners in the battle against Okorocha allocated areas to take charge and produce, Ward, LGA and Zonal officers.
It was gathered that the greatest beneficiary of the allocation of LGAs is the National Organizing Secretary, Senator Osita Izunaso, who benefitted immensely from the spread of sharing.
Grapevine sources in the Allied Forces disclosed that the National office position of Izunaso gave him a vintage position to get the lion share of the offices. Reported to be interested in running for Governor in 2019, Izunaso is in charge of a percentage of LGAs in the zones, especially his Orlu zone. From Ohaji/Egbema to Ideato North, Izunaso’s influence is felt as he reportedly dwarfed others in the control of the officers apart from Izunaso getting the lion share, Araraume captured his Okigwe zone, in partnership with Senator Ben Uwajumogu, and Hon (Barr) Emeka Nwajiuba.
The trio are in firm control of Okigwe zone to pave way for Uwajumogu getting a second chance ticket and Nwajiuba displacing the incumbent, Chike Okafor for another shot at the House of Reps, the choice candidates of Araraume may likely use the chances created by the Senator for the Okigwe North House of Reps seat.
In Owerri zone, the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere dominates the control of LGAs even as the likes of Izunaso and Araraume infiltrated to have pockets of control in the respective Wards and LGAs that make up Imo East zone.
Others who also benefitted in Owerri zone are TOE Ekechi, APC BOT member, Jasper Azuatalam and former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Jude Ejiogu who are in firm control of Ngor Okpala, Owerri West and Owerri North respectively. APC State chairman, Chief Hilary Eke also benefitted from the sharing.
