In a bid to ensure that honour is given to whom honour is due, APGA senatorial aspirant for Owerri zone (Imo East) come 2019, Rtd AIG Charles Ugomuoh, on Wednesday took his senatorial train to the residence of the interim President General Owere Community assembly Hon, Dr Christian Oweaya Anukam (KSM) (Agbawodike-Izu Owere) in line with his program of action and consultations to community leaders across the zone and political parties.
The visit was witnessed APGA Party by bigwigs and community leaders.
In his speech Rtd AIG Ugomuoh, unequivocally stated that his intention to run for the senatorial seat was borne out of his desire to answer the call of his people, and help in the development of Owerri zone, he assured that if given the opportunity to serve, he will help in restructuring Owerri zone and the Igbo nation in general.
Rtd AIG Ugomuoh also maintained that, Ndi Igbo have no voice, he promised to be the voice of the people if elected, he frowned at the unequal distribution of job placement, low level of industrialization, poor market structure, which according to him is prevalent in the south east, reiterating that on resumption of duty, if elected into the national assembly, the ills well be ratified.
In his response Dr Anukam described APGA as an Igbo party, and made his stand known, adding that he is for good governance, and the progress of the Igbo nation, he advised that power is taken and not given, Dr Anukam stressed on the need for aspirants to meet with community leaders for them to excel in their political dreams.
Dr Ankam commended party leaders, community leader and Rtd AIG Ugomuoh for being the first senatorial aspirant to pay him a courtesy visit, he also seized the platform to condemn the sale of tickets to wrong persons. In his words, “APGA is an Igbo party, power is taken and not given, it is good you take it instead of coming from the back yard, I am for good governance and for the progress of the Igbo nation, I don’t like leaders that will sell tickets to the wrong persons.
Present at the visit include, Mr Luke Anukam, Hon John Ucheoma, Engr Cyril Okorie, Hon Louis Iwuala, Hon Victor Anowi, Hon Chris Obijuru, Mrs Joy Iwuchukwu, and DG Charles Ugomuoh campaign Organization Chief Nwabueze Njoku and host of others.
