Fresh Trouble Looms In Imo: Rural Dwellers To Register Lands, Obtain C of O From Govt.

In line with the new Imo State Government plans to task every adult in the State N3,000 to raise the N6m every autonomous community are expected to pay rural dwellers in the communities shall now register their lands and get certificate of Occupancy from the government should the Bill for a law in that purpose gets the nod of the State legislature.

This policy is contained in one of the Bills for a law undergoing processing at the Imo State House of Assembly.

It would be recalled that the Owelle Rochas Okorocha government had asked all taxable adults to pay the sum of N3,000.

The incoming policy, the details according to a Bill for a law which has passed first and second Reading indicate that Registration of Lands and Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) originally practiced in the urban arrears will now be experienced at the local areas   and rural communities.

The Bill, suspected to be an Executive one sponsored by Majority Leader, Lugard Osuji will lead to registration of all lands in the State.
