Four Lawmakers sacked from Rescue Mission Political Group

Imo Lawmakers

Four members of the Imo State House of Assembly who previously have been enjoying good relationship with Governor Rochas Okorocha and political family are in trouble as they have been asked to keep away from the group pending when their loyality is determined.

Trumpeta learnt that the new measure extended to the lawmakers by the leader of the group and state governor, Okorocha may not be unconnected to their suspected romance with the members of the coalition who are up in arms against the governor’s political family known as Rescue Mission or “Agburu Anyi”

The lawmakers, namely; Ngozi Obiefule, Chika Madumere, Nkenna Nzeruo and Donatus Onuigwe have lost the confidence of the governor and members of the Agburu caucus in the House because of alleged closeness to persons accused of working against Okorocha.

This newspaper learnt that a counter espionage against the activities of the lawmakers was executed by a suspected member of the House through phone tracking and monitoring which allegedly put Obiefule, member representing Isu State constituency in trouble as she was confronted for allegedly having phone interactive sessions with the party chairman, Hilary Eke.

She was accused of sabotage during a private meeting in Government House, Owerri, when the Chief Executive was said to have inquired from her why the alleged calls between her and Eke when the lawmakers entered Abuja for a parley with the National Chairman, John Oyegun.

Trumpeta learnt that to prove her innocent status against the allegation, Obiefule was reportedly asked to publicly denounce her relationship with the State party Chairman resulting to newspaper publications in several Owerri based tabloids.

The entry of Senator Hope Uzodinma into APC is causing his representative in the House of Assembly, Nkenna Nzeruo elimination from the Okorocha political family as he is being accused of hobnobbing with the Orlu zone Senator.

There was suspicion on the part of Nzeruo that since Rescue Mission is said to be backing a former appointee, Obinna Amagwula to get the Oru East House ticket, he is tilting towards Uzodinma for rescue, prompting the Nzeruo was also to make a public statement denouncing relationship with the Senator who is from his constituency.

Also not left out in the accusations are Chika Madumere and Donatus Onuegwu, members representing Nkwerre and Oru West respectively.

Trumpeta learnt that despite coming from the same constituency with the governor’s choice for governor in 2019, Madumere is not upbeat about the ambition of Uche Nwosu as a result of underground scheming to bring up one M.C Ahamefula who is an active Chieftain of Ugwumba Movement. The suspicion that Madumere is not comfortable with the plans to use Nwosu’s allies to replace him, has put him in tight corner as his loyalty is in doubt.

The Nkwerre lawmakers indifference attitude to the Nwosu bid and loyalty to Rescue Mission became manifest during the father’s burial last week when politicians from different divides, especially members of the coalition came calling without enough of the Rescue Mission showing face. Apart from show of solidarity, members of the coalition group like the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere and Chief Jude Ejiogu freely associated with the mourning lawmaker. It was learnt that the presence of the coalition cemented the suspicion that he is not for the governor and not among the Rescue Mission team of lawmakers.

Onuigwe of Oru West has been knocked out following a trace of relationship to Senator Osita Izunaso. Izunaso’s factor has alienated him from the other “Agburu Anyi” lawmakers. His absence at the Abuja meeting further opened fronts for his elimination.

Trumpeta was told that despite the public endorsement of Nwosu by the lawmakers, some of them appeared to have done the exercise under duress judging from later developments as a special mechanism has been deployed to monitor them.
