The National Chairman of the National Unity Party (NUP) has declared that his party shall produce the next Governor of Imo state in 2019.
Speaking to newsmen after a meeting with factions of Labour Party and Peoples Democratic Party said ‘’I know what will happen in Imo State in 2019”. APC is gone in Imo State and the centre can no longer hold. Some gladiators of APC will move out of the party and join APGA and PDP to destroy them.
“SDP, ADC and NUP are the parties to watch in Imo state in 2019. But SDP and ADC will be destroyed by overzealous Politician in Imo before election. APGA is supposed to win the 2019 gubernatorial election in Imo State but the crisis that will greet their primaries will tear the party apart. APGA will be torn into shreds”.
“PDP will be decimated and will come 3rd position in 2019 election. NUP, ADC and SDP will struggle but NUP will win at the end of the day. In 2019, Imolites will not vote for a party but they will vote for the best man for the job and that man will run under National Unity Party (NUP) and he shall win”.
“By October 2018, there will be a political tsunami that will alter the political equation in Imo State. The Federal Government will not have any say in Imo State gubernatorial election”.
He went further to say that the next Vice President of Nigeria will come from Imo State or Anambra State. This calculation will affect the voting pattern in the South East Zone.
“If Rochas Okorocha is not allowed to have his way in Imo in 2019, he will play a spoiler’s game which will shock Imolites. Rochas Okorocha is not a light weight in politics. He is tactical and domineering”.
It could be recalled that Chief Perry Opara who is the newly elected President of West African Association of Political Parties and Secretary General of Inter Party Advisory Council (PAC) on 16th May, 2018 he pulled factions of “Fresh PDP, APDA, LP and ANU to fuse into National Unity Party in a well-attended meeting of well over 500 hundred people in Abuja. Significant in the Abuja meeting that was dominated by the Kwankwanssiya Movement from the 36 State of the Federation.
The labour Party delegation at the 16th May meeting in Abuja was led by its former National Chairman, Barr Dan Nwanyanwu while Mainasara Ilo, former National Chairman led the APDA delegation. Prince Obi Nwosu, former National Chairman of “Fresh PDP” led the PDP delegation.
Since after the 16th May Abuja meeting a large number of politicians of Imo extraction has been reaching out to Chief Perry Opara for them to actualize their political dreams in NUP. The Abuja residence of Chief Perry Opara has become a Mecca of a sought.
When reminded that the presence of NUP is yet to be felt by Imolites, Chief Perry Opara has this to say “By the end of June 2018, every hamlet in Imo state will be singing the songs of NUP and the party will become the beautify bride”.
“It is easier and cheaper to get NUP ticket because we have abolished “Delegate” (Electoral College) primaries. Those that vote at primaries are the same people that vote during election. So candidates don’t waste their money on very costly and uncertain primary nomination processes. Don’t waste your money as an aspirant, spend it as a candidate”, he said.
When asked who the likely candidate will be, Opara said “wait till the next 2 months and watch the heartbeat of Imo people. Just watch out! The result will surprise you. Imolites are angry, very angry and they will vote in revolt. Quote me”.
“NUP is a better party for new entrants into elective offices in Imo state. People with high popularity who may not be money bags will be given the flag of NUP to fly as candidates. Money is very important in politics but in NUP, popularity counts first and “winnability” follows, he concluded”.
