The “Ugwumba Movement”, the campaign outfit of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son inlaw, Chief Uche Nwosu which he wants to execute his 2019 Imo Governorship ambition, is said to have ran into internal crisis following refusal of its Coordinators to return branded campaign vehicles handed over to them to canvass for followers for Uche Nwosu.
According to information available to Trumpeta, a directive was sent out last week calling on “Ugwumba Movement” Coordinators to attend a meeting at the organization’s head office at New Owerri, with a caveat that all in possession of the Body’s vehicles must attend the meeting with them.
Sensing that that could be a ploy to lure them to the office and strip them of the vehicles, the “Ugwumba Movement” Directors shunned the invitation, as the meeting could no longer hold due to the absence of the Directors.
Trumpeta learnt that most of the Directors stayed away because they felt that taking away the vehicles from them would be a big loss, as they said that they only thing they have gained was the vehicles, which they claim was bought with Imo Government money, and therefore maintained that the vehicles is their own part of the “State cake”
“I cannot return that vehicle. Infact, I have sent mine to Lagos. If they want let them come here. I have collected my own share of “Imo Cake” a Director from Ohaji/Egbema told Trumpeta on phone from Lagos.
Information has it that none of the “Ugwumba Movement” Coordinators or Directors is ready to return the vehicles.
However, when our Roving Reporters visited Chief Uche Nwosu’s residence at Civic Centre, Owerri, some of the vehicles were seen parked along the streets of the Estate, looking abandoned.
But pundits have asked the reason Nwosu’s Organization is now demanding the vehicles, whether it meant that Uche Nwosu’s Governorship ambition has kissed the dust?
But Nwosu seems to have replied the begging question through publications in some Owerri based Newspapers where he boasted that his Governorship ambition is still alive, even saying that he is now more emboldened to continue the race and will win the seat in 2019.
Meanwhile, one of the pillars of Uche Nwosu’s governorship ambition, Dr Henry Okafor, who introduced “Owelle Show Us the Man and Go to Sleep”, has folded his political Tent and dumped Okorocha and Uche Nwosu for other things.
Okafor who had happed he would be favoured for Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in APC for 2019 election got frustrated when Okorocha and Nwosu rather preferred Kingsley Uju for the slot.
Suddenly, Henry Okafor has replaced all his Billboards that were eulogizing Okorocha and propagating Uche Nwosu’s governorship election with a new slogan “Christ Alliance”, whatever that meant.
Meanwhile, sources said Nwosu has began reorganizing the “Ugwumba Movement” because the outcome of the APC congress in Imo State has altered the status quo of the organization, and therefore needs to screen the “Movement” to know those on espionage mission, and those truly in support of Uche Nwosu’s Governorship dream.
