A Group of miscreants were said to have invaded the All Progressive Congress (APC) party secretariat located along Okigwe road Owerri on Monday to seal the party and drive away the State Party Chairman Hon Dr Hillary Eke who was alleged to have conspired with Abuja politicians to work against Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Governor of Imo during last Saturday’s Ward Congress.
The aggrieved group could not gain entrance to enter the premises. It was alleged that the Gang broke the keys and forced themselves inside. Hillary Eke, the party chairman was nowhere to found.
The aggrieved team searched for him and were told that the party chairman, Eke had ran to Abuja in order to be saved and probably to strategies before the next congress come up.
Information revealed that workers of party office deserted the place for fear of possible attack by aggrieved members of the Rescue Mission who are demanding for the conciliation of the congress on the ground that sensitive materials were hijacked by Abuja politicians.
In the same vein, the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere was reported to have survived the attempt on his life during the congress by hoodlums.
Report revealed that gallant mobile police men averted the plan and scared the hoodlum away to save Madumere and Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu in Owerri.
An eye witness account revealed that hoodlums numbering over 200 allegedly swooped on the Deputy Governor along Okigwe road during the last Saturday’s controversial ward congress. Since then Madumere and his followers are said to have become more security conscious. We further gathered that the Deputy Governor received series of threats over the controversial congress.
We also gathered that Governor Rochas Okorocha’s followers have moved for Madumere’s impeachment.
Our source revealed that trouble in Imo APC has escalated. It was disclosed that during a meeting at Nick Banquet Hall, Imo Government House, Owerri, a lawmaker from Ehime Mbano and former TC chairman were reported to have allegedly fought openly. Different weapons according to an eye witness were used in the fight which was described by many as show of shame. Female Commissioners serving in Okorocha’s cabinet were also reported to be at war.
