Owerri Senate Seat: Mike Nwachukwu Assures Effective Representation

A Senatorial hopeful on the All Progressives Grand Alliance platform. Mr. Mike Nwachukwu has recently declared interest to represent Owerri Zone at the Red Chambers in 2019. He made the declaration recently in the Local Government Party Secretariate, Awaka, before chieftains of the party.

Addressing members of his party, the technocrat said he came to solicit their support to represent them at the Senate in order to ensure effective and qualitative representation.

He frowned at the various agencies and parastatals working together to make sure that people oriented projects are implemented, but have failed to take effect due to poor representation. He assured the zone of his willingness to perform, while he harped on his competent capacity to represent them and draw these projects to the zone.

The Local Government Chairman, Mr. Vincent Amadi, introducing members present, encouraged the aspirant to work hard, informing on the readiness of the party to give all aspirants a fair chance.

In a separate interview with the Ngor Okpala born aspirant who said he is not a new comer to party, he informed that he had functioned as the state secretary of the party for six years and had served in various capacities.

The business mogul promised effective representation by taking advantage of budgetary processes annually to address environmental and infrastructural issues plaguing the zone. Maintaining to address infrastructural deficit, he promised to take active steps to address youth restiveness by initiating youth empowerment programmes.

Speaking also, a Board of Trustee, BOT, member of the party, Lady Ann Dozie, she maintained that APGA is a united party which believes in Fairness, Justice and Equity, while she advised the aspirant to be courageous and not be deterred by competitors. She added that, the party has assured all aspirants the level playing ground, while harping on the need for members to arm themselves with their Permanent Voters Cards.

Stating that the party is gender friendly, Lady Ann charged women interested in elective positions, to take a cue from her and sum up courage. She maintained that women as homebuilders and peacemakers will give boost in any political position they aim.

Notable among those present at the declaration were, Chief Dan Iwuala, LG chairmen from Owerri zone, party chieftains and executives, ward leaders and members of the party.
