Tension in Imo APGA over alleged plot to adopt Amuchie as Governorship Candidate

The perceived peaceful politicking and friendly relationship currently existing among All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Governorship aspirants in Imo State is about to be destabilized if reports reaching Trumpeta are anything to go by. Reports have it that the harmony cum trust on the party leadership maybe truncated following the alleged plot to impose a strange name on the party.

Indications within the week disclosed that Mr Stanley Amuchie, who is one of the Directors of a high flying commercial bank and hails from Mbaise may have been penciled down for the Governorship ticket of APGA in the state.

Although much could not be said to have been heard of Amuchie politically, especially in the past except now his name is rumoured to be among those gunning for the state governor information available points to the connection of Chief Martin Agbaso, former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi and few others as those suspected to be behind the said plot.

His sudden interest in the APGA Governorship ambition is further not surprising considering his alleged romance with Governor Okorocha who it is said has preferred to transfer most of the State businesses to Amuchie’s Bank.

The new twist which has sent negative signals to both the aspirants in Imo and leadership is coming at the wake of renewed legal tussle between Chief Martins Agbaso and APGA over the authenticity of the National Chairman of the party.

Meanwhile, neither the National office nor the Barrister Peter Ezeobi led state leadership of APGA has reacted to the plot which has further compounded its authenticity.
